Role Description
Job title – Trust Fundraising Assistant
Contract – 2.5 days per week (17.5 hours) per week (six months fixed-term contract)
Location – Office based
Salary – £22,000 per annum (pro rata)
Pension – 5% pension contribution available (based on government eligibility criteria)
Holiday – 25 days per annum plus statutory (pro rata)

The role
- Research: Research charitable trusts and foundations and identify relevant funding opportunities
- Writing: Write and edit trust fundraising applications, including online applications and paper application forms where necessary
- Ongoing development and communication: liaise with the trustees / trust secretaries of charitable trusts where relevant in order to build relationships and ensure the application meets stated requirements and criteria
- Reporting: Write and edit reports to highlight the impact of our work to charitable trusts and foundations
- To support the fundraising team with other fundraising activities as and when required
- To be part of the Grow team.
Person specification
- Communication: clear and skilled communicator, both written and verbally
- Attention to detail: the ability to write in a formal, precise and detailed manner
- Organisational skills: strong time management and the ability to prioritise tasks in order to meet deadlines; proactive and regular tracking of progress using the trust and foundation application tracker
- Proactive worker: the capacity to manage own workload, including proactive communication, prioritisation of funding bids and applications and working to tight deadlines.
- Experience in writing successful applications and forming good relationships with trustees / trust secretaries is beneficial but not a requirement for the role.
Essential requirements
Any role offer is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Training and support
Support and training will be provided where necessary to develop confidence in identification of funding and in the completion of applications. Initial development needs will be identified and met during the probation period.
We have monthly training sessions in the evening, on the first Monday of each month, for all employees to come together to learn and socialise. Time in lieu can be taken.
