Team Introductions!!

We are very excited to welcome Susan who has joined the Grow team this week as our new Employment and Development Coach. We are looking forward to working with Susan and seeing her bring her skills and expertise to our main programme!

We’ll leave Susan to introduce herself:

“For many years I have been passionate about sustainable living and organic gardening. I completed an NVQ2 in environmental conservation and used a Millennium award to create an urban community garden and run outdoor activities for families, including weaving a willow hut. It’s often said as a joke that Occupational Therapists are basket weavers, but in my case it’s true.

In my 20 year career in Occupational Therapy I have been promoting holistic health and wellbeing. There’s a lot of evidence for the health benefits of employment and this has justified my work as a vocational specialist OT in mental health services in Sheffield and Rotherham. I joined Grow because of its combination of gardening or nature-based arts and crafts with employability skills development, which reflects my interests, skills and experience so perfectly”.
