Our nature-based programmes are branching out to North Sheffield!

We’re thrilled to share some big news here at Grow! We’re launching a brand new pilot programme in North Sheffield, and we couldn’t be more excited about the potential to reach even more young people in need of support. We’re partnering with the fantastic High Green Development Trust, and this collaboration marks a significant step forward in our mission to empower young people through nature.
We know that young people in North Sheffield face serious challenges, with nearly 30% of 16-17 year olds at risk of becoming NEET (not in education, employment, or training). Many also struggle with mental ill-health, social isolation, and limited access to vital support. That’s why we believe our nature-based approach is more crucial than ever.
Starting on Tuesday 24th June, at the High Green Development Trust, our Grow Programme will offer a supportive and engaging environment for 16-24 year olds. Participants will dive into practical gardening and outdoor activities – things we know are incredibly beneficial for mental wellbeing and reducing social isolation.
Helen Jordan, Grow’s CEO, says:
“We are incredibly excited to collaborate with High Green Development Trust in the delivery of a pilot programme in North Sheffield. We will be using tried and tested methods to deliver high impact coaching and employability skills programmes to young people in the local area. Harnessing our local green spaces and utilising nature we incorporate wellbeing throughout our work bringing positive mental health outcomes alongside reducing social isolation. If you are 16-24 (or know someone who is) and at a loose end this summer please do come along and get involved.”
Lauren Sanderson, Operations Manager, says:
“I am over the moon that Grow has chosen High Green for their pilot programme – it is a very welcome and much needed activity for the North of the city. With young people becoming NEET on the rise across the nation, organisations like Grow and their expertise are needed more than ever. I look forward to working with the team and seeing young people from our local community benefit from their support!”
We encourage referrers and young people aged 16-24 interested in joining the Grow Programme to find more.
