It’s a Wrap! Walk & Talk in 2022

Here are some amazing comments from young people that highlight the benefits of the Walk & Talk programme:
The programme “encouraged me to get out of bed in the morning even when I didn’t feel like I wanted to, just to help myself and continue something beneficial for myself, it made me see someone else’s point of view of the way I am rather then just my family’s, overall was brilliant”
“I managed to complete the programme when at the start I wasn’t even too sure I would start the programme”
“I have enjoyed having someone to talk to, having more structure”
“The programme allowed me to work through some feelings”
“It was nice to be able to talk to someone who understood my situation and it made me feel better about everything”
The programme “Improved my mental health” .
What’s been happening?
December marks the end of another busy year for our Walk and Talk programme.
42 young people were referred or expressed an interest in joining the W & T programme.
70% of those went on to enrol on the programme and 34% achieved 8 walks (or more in some cases) and 34% achieved between 1 and 4 walks.
We currently have 3 Walks taking place and have 7 referrals just in to start off the new year.
We are aiming to support more young people in 2023 through the Walk and Talk Programme.
Impact
Of those who engaged with the programme. We have recorded an
average:
Increase in confidence to engage in employment, education or training – 12.5%
Reduction in Factors contributing to isolation – 9%
Increase in wellbeing – 4%
Whilst some of these stats are lower than hoped, some individuals have achieved an increase of up to 31% on wellbeing.
