Grow Programme at High Green

People taking part in outdoor activities including walking and gardening.

We’re delighted to partner with High Green Development Trust to expand our high impact programmes into new locations and support more young people in Sheffield.

Connecting with nature is beneficial for us! That’s why our Grow Programme takes place outdoors and focuses on nature-based and gardening projects.

Held at the High Green Development Trust, this four-week programme supports 16-24 year olds and is designed to promote wellbeing, enhance social connections, and develop employability skills.

Using a therapeutic coaching approach, we focus on the soft skills that are key to thriving in life and at work, such as teamwork, problem solving, communication and resilience. Trainees take part in a mix of
one-to-one, group and practical nature-based sessions. Following completion, all trainees have the
opportunity to interview for our paid work placement programme, Grow Gardeners.

Many of the young people we work with have experienced a lack of self-confidence and have little or no experience of work.

Learning new skills but also built my confidence up. I have learnt how to use gardening equipment and what weeds effect different plants, and how to treat them. I feel more confident around people and you feel like you have been heard by the team.” – Grow Programme 2024 trainee
